Exe app working on one Debian distro, but not on another. How to ‘transfer’?:

So I have got application provided as ELF exe, which is working on one distribution, based on debi 8, but not on another, based on debi 9. Unfortunately this app is not too popular so info about it is scarce and noone shares my problem. What steps are necessary to migrate, transfer (IDK right word for this process) the app? Thanks to objdump -p and ldd, I think I know which libraries it requires to work properly (lot of them). Can I just copy necessary .so or maybe .a files from debi 8 to debi9 distro and put them in directory of executable? If not, maybe downloading sources of this libs to debi9 and compiling them there would suffice? Or maybe some other way to do that? Forgive me my english and ignorance of jargon, I am not great with compilation and indepth linux stuff.
