My last attempt at fstab crashed my startup. Someone want to check my work before I edit fstab again?:

Mounting a 1TB internal drive at startup. This is a media drive for a plex server, I want it to automount anytime there’s a reboot.

  • The mount point should be /media/mediadrive.
  • The partition is /dev/sda1 (yes, sda, not sdb)

I’ve seen multiple suggestions as to how to edit the fstab and what the new line should be:

UUID= 2dc3ddcf-b2b7-4887-9bb8-492ba9bb8fd0 /media/mediadrive ext4 defaults 0 2

is one suggestion.

/dev/sda1 /mediadrive ext4 defaults 0 2

I have no idea what ‘defaults’ and ‘0’ and ‘2’ do. Any help is appreciated.
