What can I do to make switching between my desktop and my laptop environments feel seamless?:

Hi noobs!

I have arch installations on both my desktop and laptop. Visually they are the same; many of the configs are the same; obvious directories are synced both ways (music, documents etc.)

Things that I would like to achieve:

  • Manage packages between the two better: If I install on one, can I easily install it on the other too? Is there a package manager feature that will allow me to compare what packages are where and act upon it? Currently I’m completely manual.

  • Manage configs better: What is the best solution for handling configs between two different installations Is it best to store both config versions with git or are there better solutions?

Would really appreciate any direction or opinions. Thanks!
