I’m currently running KDE Neon (Ubuntu 16.04 based) which uses a 4.10 kernel. Given that kernel 4.15 fixes a SATA bug concerning ALPM I’m having, I tried installing the mainline RC, which booted to a black screen. If I push the power button a couple times it shuts down. I can’t access a virtual terminal. Since I thought it might be the mainline kernel, I tried 4.14 and 4.13 mainline kernels which also didn’t work. I then tried live ISOs from Manjaro and Fedora 27 which also don’t boot. But I can boot the a live ISO of Neon just fine using the same iso creation procedure, so I guess it’s a kernel issue.
I’m running an Acer Chromebook 15 (no Chrome OS).
