Help: Laptop will not connect to wifi (Linux Mint 19 XFCE 64bit):

This is an odd situation. I’ve tried to troubleshoot it as best as I can but since I’m a total noob…

Here’s what happened. Everything was fine, I was browsing on firefox and then suddenly no more connectivity. I checked my router, everything is fine. Checked with other computers connected to same network, they’re fine.

Here’s what makes this really confusing: Nothing was changed!

Nothing about the network changed (no password, configuration, etc.) no change to network connection settings

Nothing about the laptop changed (no new installs or updates to OS, etc.).

I just don’t understand what could have gone wrong. The only thing I can think of is a hardware issue (?). But have no idea how to troubleshoot that or to narrow it down to that.

But I also doubt that it is hardware because it is able to see SSIDs around the neighborhood (including mine) and to see that they are password protected. It just doesn’t connect!

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!
